Initial Meeting
A landscape design begins with meeting you. We will address the issues and desires
for your outdoor environment and your family’s needs. From this meeting I will create a written Landscape Design
Proposal for clarification. This will assure that we are on the same page in terms of the type and scope of
landscape that will evolve. The Landscape Design Proposal will tell you approximately how many hours the design
will take and quote a “not to exceed” amount for design. I will offer some design choices to fit your budget.
The initial meeting will take aprx 1 ½ hours. The fee for this meeting is $175 and includes a
written Design Proposal, which explains the design intent of the proposed project. $75 of the initial meeting fee will
be applied to your design fee, should you choose to engage my services in creating a landscape plan for you.
Preliminary Planning
If your design requires structures and hardscape changes I will create a Preliminary Conceptual Plan.
With most structures elevation sketches will be provided as requested. These will allow you to get started
in the bidding process or, if you are a do-it-yourselfer, shop for materials. I will refer you to contractors
that I feel will meet your needs in terms of skill and cost.
I advise most clients to get 3 bids.
Planting Plan
Upon approval, I will create a Planting Plan. A plant list will be included with the botanical name, common name,
suggested size and care.
Facilitation
Design facilitation during the installation phase will assure that the finished product fulfills the design
intent and that you are happy with the results. It is part of the fine-tuning that happens between the designer,
the contractor and you. At planting time I can place plants for your landscape contractor or the do-it-yourselfer.
By placing plants we are letting the design evolve to its full potential. Pots can also be addressed
at this time.
Landscape Design services can also include: Permaculture such as edible gardens, storm-water
mitigation rain gardens and green-roofs.
